I went to see Eloira today, like I do every day. No matter how hard it is… I can’t stay away. I sit with her, talk to her, read to her, and even sing. She’s probably tired of my singing voice by now.
Today, her oxygen requirement was at 100%. That means she needed the maximum level of oxygen support. She also needed more dopamine for her blood pressure.
Dopamine is a medication used to help maintain blood pressure and improve blood flow to vital organs.
There were visible signs of fluid retention.
Her little body even looked swollen.
I try to stay hopeful.
But I’m also learning to be realistic.
Not every update will be good.
And that’s hard to accept.
